Horizon 2020 Funding for Tobacco Control (CAT/EN)
El 18 d’octubre de 2018, la European Respiratory Society i la European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention van organitzar el taller final del projecte EUREST-PLUS que va tenir lloc al Parlament Europeu a Brussel·les.
L’esdeveniment el va organitzar l’eurodiputat Gilles Pargneaux, i es va anomenar «Finançament H2020 per al control del tabac: Amplitud de la prevenció de malalties pulmonars a la UE». Durant l’esdeveniment, es van presentar els primers resultats del projecte Eurest-Plus de la mà del coordinador del projecte, Dr. Constantine Vardavas, així com altres projectes finançats pel Horizon 2020 sobre prevenció de malalties pulmonars. Els seus coordinadors van proporcionar informació sobre els majors èxits d’aquests projectes. L’equip de la Unitat de Control de Tabac va participar a l’esdeveniment com a soci del projecte Eurest-Plus. A més, el Dr. Esteve Fernández va presentar els primers resultats del projecte TackSHS. En general, aquest esdeveniment va proporcionar una oportunitat única, no només reunint tots els projectes finançats pel H2020 en el control del tabac, sinó perquè a més va permetre una discussió fructífera i atractiva entre investigadors, responsables polítics i representants de la Comissió Europea.

On 18th of October 2018, European Respiratory Society and the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention organised the final EUREST-PLUS workshop that took place at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event was hosted by MEP Gilles Pargneaux, and was titled ‘H2020 Funding for Tobacco Control: Scaling up for the prevention of lung diseases in the EU’. During the event, the first results of the Eurest-Plus project were presented by the Project coordinator Dr Constantine Vardavas as well as other Horizon 2020 funded projects on lung diseases prevention were presented and their coordinators provided the insights into the best successes from these projects. The Tobacco Control Unit Team participated in the event as a Partner of the Eurest-Plus project as well as Dr Esteve Fernández presented first results of the TackSHS project. Overall, this event provided a unique opportunity not only by gathering together all H2020 funded projects in tobacco control, but also as it allowed for a fruitful and engaging discussion among researchers, policy makers and the European Commission representatives.
